The Kiev Cinema (the Cinema, for short) was opened on 23 November 1952 in the building at 19 Krasnoarmeyskaya Street. Construction works on the building started as early as before the 1939–1945 Second World War. Thanks to novel solutions, the Cinema became one of the entire USSR's model cinemas.
