Kazan Cathedral on Red Square (Moscow)

Construction of the Cathedral that is dedicated to Our Lady of Kazan was financed by Duke Dmitry Pozharsky as gratitude toward God for the victory over the Poles of 1620.

In 1650, a bell tower was built.

The Cathedral had been repeatedly reconstructed and finally completely demolished in 1936.

Architect Pyotr Baranovsky was lucky to measure the Cathedral during its 1925–1930 reconstruction. By his measurements, the Cathedral was recreated from 1990 to 1993.
