Church and Chapel of Our Lady of Kazan (Moscow)

The temple was built in 2000, with the blessing of His Holiness Alexis II, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, by grateful descendants in honour of the fallen defenders of law and order.

The Chapel was consecrated in honour of the Our Lady of Kazan icon. The construction of the Church was enabled by voluntary donations. The project was designed by the sculptor Anatoly Bichukov and the architects V. Shubin and A. Kurinniy.

Earlier, the Church of Our Lady of Kazan was situated at this site. It was consecrated in 1694, closed in 1927, and demolished in 1972.
