It seems that there are no people who do not know about the legendary Madam Tussaud's wax museum. Hardly anybody does not want to visit it. The Museum is situated in England. However, it has branches in many cities of the world including Amsterdam.

Madam Tussauds Amsterdam was built in 1970. It was the first ever branch of the famous Wax Museum established outside the Great Britain.

Amsterdam Museum is much smaller than in London, but its collection consists of more than 100 wax figures and occupies several floors of a huge building situated on the Dam Square, the very centre of Amsterdam.

The wax figures represent different periods of the history. Despite its entertainment function, the Museum offers a short historical background for most of the sculptures. Another peculiar feature of Madam Tussauds Amsterdam is that it represents the history of the city, especially its Golden Age.

Every year, thousands of tourists come to Amsterdam to visit the unforgettable Madam Tussauds and see the exact copies of their idols whether they are artistes, film stars, famous sportsmen, historical characters or politicians.
