The Zhytomir Region Puppet Theatre (the Theatre, for short) was established in 1935.
For many years of its activity in Zhytomir, the Theatre has made a conquest of both children and adults. It has everything to be successful including an excellent company, extended collection of puppets and experience.
The Theatre offers its spectators various shows by Russian and foreign authors, holds children's holidays, birthday and farewell parties for primary school students. It warmly welcomes all visitors.
On 21 August 1897, the first Zhytomir film show took place in Zhytomir City Theatre. A special room was equipped to show the films. Then, the Cinema was named the Rim Electric Theatre.
