The museum house of Boris Pasternak was formerly owned by a manager of factories in the village of Vsevolodo-Vilva (a village in Aleksandrovsk district, Perm region). The young poet and future author of Doctor Zhivago and Nobel Prize winner Boris Pasternak lived here for about six months, since January till the end of June of 1916.
After that the house lived its ordinary life. It was almost completely destroyed by the end of 1990s. In 2005, the governor of Perm region O. Chirkunov decided to reconstruct the house of Pasternak as a historical site. In July of 2006, the first foundation stone was laid by Yevgeny Pasternak, the son of the poet. Today, the house is reconstructed.
The museum house of Pasternak is a museum and leisure centre at the same time. The "Green Sitting Room" brings the visitors to the atmosphere of creativity and everyday life of an artist. The interiors of the room are reconstructed upon the photographs taken in 1916.
The "Manager's Study" tells about the metallurgical history of Vsevolodo-Vilva and its surroundings, about the dukes Vsevolozhskys, Savva Morozov, and the leading Soviet factory Metil. The room looks like a study with maps, samples of products, and models of factories.
The other part of the house is intended for everyday cultural life of the villagers. It has Internet access and mediatheca. Literature and music meetings are hold there.
