Dnepropetrovsk Zoo or zoozone, as the locals call it, is a part of Shevchenko Park. The Park is divided into two parts. The part of the Zoo is situated at Monastirsky Island. It takes just five minutes to go by foot from the beginning of the Island to the Zoo.

Dnepropetrovsk Zoo was opened in 1972. The Zoo is quite small and has just about 40 species of animals including foxes, coyotes, monkeys, racoon dogs, goats, falcons, porcupines, wolfs, buffalos, camels and others. The Zoo has a terrarium.
