The Zaporizhia Youth Theatre (or the Young Spectator's Theatre) has been opened since 1979. Its rise fell on the 1990s when the Theatre was one of the most popular institutions of Zaporizhia. However, it did not have a permanent address for very long time. The company performed at different stages and did not have its own building. In July 2005, the Theatre moved to a building of the former Builders' Cultural Centre.
It was occupied by the Youth and Students' Centre, the Strojka Rock Club and several Zaporizhia youth organizations before. It had always hosted festivals and concerts of popular and lesser-known rock singers.
The Builders' Cultural Centre itself was built in 1949 and commissioned in 1950. In those days, its construction was very expensive and cost four million roubles. It was a massive two-story building with two columns. The Centre featured a cinema auditorium seating 500 people and a billiard room. The foyers had upholstered furniture covered with blue and red silk; portraits of the Communist Party leaders hang on the walls.
The current repertoire of the Youth Theatre includes classical and contemporary productions of various genres: comedies, dramas, one-man shows, musical performances, and stage plays for children. A teachers' council works in the Theatre. Its members are Zaporizhia school teachers, city education administration officers and actors.

The Dnepropetrovsk Circus (the Circus, for short) is rather young. The building was built in 1980; the project architect was Pavel Nirinberg.
