The Chapel Tomb of the Lermontovs is situated on the territory of the Church of Archangel Michael. Mikhail Lermontov is a Russian Romantic writer, poet and painter, sometimes called "the poet of the Caucasus", and has become the most important Russian poet after Alexander Pushkin's death in 1837.
After her grandson was reburied, Yelizaveta Arsenieva built a chapel above the cherished graves. She was later buried in this burial vault, four years after her grandson's death.
A black marble monument was erected above the poet's grave. It is engraved in Russian with gold-plated letters: "Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov 1814–1841". On the left, there is a monument for the poet's mother with a broken anchor on the cross. It is written on the monument: "Under this stone the body of Mariya Mikhailovna Lermontova, nee Arsenieva, lies, who died on Saturday, 24 February 1817; she lived for 21 years 11 months and 7 days". On the right, there is a monument for the grandfather Mikhail Arseniev (1768–1810).
In 1974, the poet's father, Yuri Lermontov, was buried near the Chapel. His remains were brought from Lipetsk Region, Russia.
In around 2 or 3 kilometres to the north-east of the Skanovo Monastery of Holy Trinity, there are caves, which in the past were a site of hermit monk's active work.

The Church of the Holy Spirit with five domes (the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit) was built in 1861 with support from its parishioners. In 1872, a bell tower was constructed.
Side chapels are dedicated to St. Nicholas, St. Ilya, St. Vladimir, and SS. Constantine and Helen.
