Bust Monument to A. S. Pushkin (Ulyanovsk)

In 1899, the year of the 100th anniversary of the poet's birth, the Simbirsk City Duma (now Ulyanovsk) promised its people to install the poet's bust monument in one of the city parks. However, the Government could not find enough money then…

More than 100 years later, Zurab Tsereteli, the President of the Russian Academy of Arts, made a present of the monument to Alexander Pushkin to the Ulyanovsk Museum of Regional Studies.

The bust of the poet was installed in a yard of the Literature Museum "House of the Yazikovs" (the branch of the regional museum) and opened on the 12th of June, 2005.

The management of the "House of the Yazikovs" initiated the opening of the monument to Alexander Pushkin.
